WGD Opportunity Fund
The WGD Opportunity Fund, L.P. (the “Fund”) was formed by WGD Capital to capitalize on the rapidly evolving opportunities in the health and wellness market with a focus on the legal cannabis and psychedelic industries. The Fund is uniquely positioned to support market-leading businesses while mitigating risk through professional management, diversification, structured investments and corporate governance. The Fund is strategically located in key cannabis, technology and capital market locations, with offices in Palo Alto, New York, Vancouver and Tel Aviv.
Fund Mandate
The Fund invests in early- and expansion-stage private companies in the USA, Canada, and Israel, with the goal of building successful, profitable businesses and generating attractive investor returns. WGD has identified several attractive sectors along the value chain in cannabis, psychedelics, ag-tech, and the health and wellness industries which offer strong barriers to entry and favorable margins.
Fund Managers
WGD Capital team members have proven track records with start-ups and growth enterprises alike and accomplishments across multiple economic cycles. The team has more than 50 years of combined experience in fund management, venture capital, private equity, public and private capital markets, mergers & acquisitions and operations.
Prior to forming the Fund, the managers reviewed over 900 cannabis companies ultimately investing personally in over 25 companies through a disciplined review and due diligence process. Many of these firms have subsequently raised follow-on financing, completed public offerings, or have been acquired.
